Start to make Loose Leaf Tea
The following instruction will show you how to brew delicious loose leaf tea in a simple way. When talking about kungfu tea, some people might think it is complicated and deep. Actually, once you understand the tea making concept, you can enjoy the tea everywhere with very minimal teawares.
Step 1:Prepare loose leaf tea leaves, teapot (small or medium size), cups, fairness pitcher (optional)
* If you don’t have a fairness pitcher. you can pick a cup with bigger size than the teapot. With a fairness pitcher. you could collect different infusions and reach a balance of tea strength.
Step 2:Put the tea leaves. The golden ratio: 1g of tea leaves per 50ml of water
Easy way to measure tea leaves:
・For tightly curled tea leaves, loosely cover the bottom of the teapot with one layer.
・For dried loose tea leaves, cover the bottom of the teapot with roughly two layers.
Step 3:Pour Boiling water and wait tea leaves to fully expand
・For tightly curled tea leaves:95-100°C / 2-3 mins
・For dried loose tea leaves:85-95°C / 1-2 mins
*To help tea leaves expand completely and have better taste, you could rinse tea with hot water 10-15 sec before first steeping.

・The first steeping is most aromatic
・The second steeping is most flavorful
・Steeping after second one need longer brewing time
